So close, I can almost taste it...

When I weighed in on December 30th, I didn’t really believe everything the scale said. First of all, it said that my body fat percentage went down by more than 4%. In a week? Highly doubtful. I’d only lost 1.2 pounds but I’d gained over 4 in water weight.

Yeah. Sometimes it stinks being a girl.

I sort of disregarded that weigh-in due to the timing of it all (and I’m not talking about Christmas – sorry, TMI?) and decided that I’d wait until the following week to really gauge my progress.

My weekly weigh-in was Friday, January 8th. I lost 4.5 pounds – there goes all that water weight! I “gained” 3% body fat, but since we’re not counting last week I really lost 1.4% from my weigh-in on December 24th.

That brings my weight loss to a grand total of 29.5 pounds – let’s just round up and say I’ve lost 30 pounds in 10 weeks!!!

Whee!!!

AND…according to the doctor, he’d like to see me lose just five more pounds and then go on MAINTENANCE!!! That should only take me another two weeks. Maybe.

I personally would like to lose another 15 20 pounds. But we’ll see. I do know that there are several cases where people have continued to lose even after being put on maintenance so I know that I can still lose more without being in the Acute Phase anymore.

On Saturday I had my “makeover” at Gary Lambert. I opted not to have my hair colored since I don’t have the time or the money to keep that up. I just got a cut and the make-up lesson. My limitations with the cut were just that my bangs had to be short enough that they stay out of my eyes, and my hair needs to be long enough for a ponytail for my workouts. I did tell her that I’ve had my hair layered about 20 times in my life because it seems like no one can come up with anything else to do with it. I said that I’ve been really bored with my hair but I’m just not creative enough to think of any other styles and I gave her the liberty to do whatever she’d like, staying within those two limitations.

My make-up ended up pretty similar to what I normally do, only darker.

Here’s my before and after – my before picture was in the car just before I hopped out for my appointment. (Not literally. Don’t picture me with a bunny tail.) My after picture was taken once we’d gotten home and I’d been able to lighten up my eyes a bit and change my shirt.

What do you think? I like the haircut – I don’t love it because it seems like just another layered cut. But it works for me. I did take away two new make-up tricks from her that I’ve started using and I like the subtle change they make.

Pat decided at the last minute that he wanted to take me out for a nice dinner, for one because we haven’t really been on a date in forever and for another reason to celebrate my progress and dedication to this whole process. We went to The Ravenous Pig in Winter Park.

If you live around here, you need to go. Right now. Go eat there. It’s fabulous!!!

I had a wedge salad and Pat had the chicken and waffles. Falafel waffles, to be exact! We ordered a side of their biscuits with sea salt butter and a side of their truffle fries.

I had one biscuit, a handful of a few too many fries, most of my salad…and we got dessert. We were going to share one but then he saw one that he wanted to try and I wanted to try a different one. He ordered the Cake & Ice Cream, which was an itty bitty milkshake and two little wedges of the best banana cake ever. I ordered the Pig Tails, which was four sticks of curly-cued fried dough (think funnel cake) with cinnamon sugar and an espresso chocolate dipping sauce. I had a few bites of the cake and two of the pig tails.

Then I was out of ketosis on Sunday morning. I did, however, get up and do a Firm workout. I was back in ketosis by this morning (Monday) so I felt good that I was able to treat myself without negating any progress.

I also tried on my knee-high boots again – and this time they ZIPPED ALL THE WAY UP!!! I’ve been trying almost every week to get those suckers on. Finally!!!

And…AND – I went to Kohl’s to look for some jackets to wear over my pre-pregnancy camisoles (since I can’t wear camisoles alone to work) and headed straight for the Juniors clearance. Now, before Moms Get Fit, I couldn’t shop in Juniors at all. Even the XL and most of the XXL sizes were too tight. This time I picked up all larges…and found them to be too loose!

I BOUGHT MEDIUMS IN THE JUNIORS DEPARTMENT!!!

Let’s recap – the doctor thinks another five pounds will get me on maintenance. I can finally wear my knee-high boots again. I’m back in the mediums in Juniors sizes.

Wah-hoo!!!

My last two goals are:
1. To have my wedding rings fit comfortably again (right now I can get them on, but I’m afraid if my fingers swell even a little, they’ll get stuck) and
2. To get my body fat percentage down closer to 22 or 23% (the healthy range starts at 21%, so that’s still within healthy standards).
