Today was the day I started the relaxation part of the Moms Get Fit Giveaway.
I had my pedicure and manicure at the Gary Lambert Aveda Salon in Winter Park. There is only one girl who does the mani/pedis. Her name is Leah and I just love her! We chatted the entire time. It normally should only take about an hour and a half (if even that long!) to get those two things done, but I was there for probably 2 1/2 hours!
But it was well worth it. I also met Gary and he is SUPER nice and apparently a lot of fun. I can't wait for the hair part, and I hope he's the one to cut and style mine! The salon is very clean and everyone is really nice. They offered us coffee and water and served the water in goblets. No Solo cups here (sorry Heather).
My feet were pampared.
My hands were beautified.
And all this while Pat and our daughter were enjoying some bagels by the fountain, sandwiched between two 1-mile walks down Park Avenue. And what a great day it was to be outside!
From there we went to pick up Granny so that we could bring her to Mom's house. I don't think they've had a chance to get together since Mom broke her wrist. I know Granny hadn't seen The Princess in a few weeks. We spent a few hours there, had lunch (I so desperately wanted a cheese sandwich and chips like everyone else, but I didn't!), then Pat and I ran out to the Reebok outlet while our girl stayed there to play with Brandon, because Brian brought him over to see Granny and my mom.
We spent an hour and a half in the Reebok store! They were running a special on sneakers, buy two and get the third free, so I bought two pairs and Pat got the third.
The ones on the left are my walking shoes that I'll keep at work for the treadmill. The ones on the right are the sneakers that I'll wear during my training sessions with James. Who, by the way, taught me some self-defense moves after my session last night. It was AWESOME. I feel like I learned a lot in a short amount of time. He also teaches self-defense classes. Wouldn't it be fun to get a group of girls together to take that? I think it would be great!
Anyway, I looked around for two outfits that I can wear now, planning to save the rest of my gift card for after I've lost weight.
I found two pairs of pants, two sports bras and two shirts. The pants are supposedly "short" length, but they're still too long for me! (Stop laughing. Yes you, stop laughing now.) I really like the shirts that I found.
And I almost want to go work out tomorrow just so that I can wear them sooner.
And then we picked up our girl, went grocery shopping, had dinner, Skyped with the Peraltas and now we're getting stuff done before sleep time.
Though I really should have gone to bed an hour ago.
Or at least maybe I should have put my laundry away before blogging. Priorities, people.
Hope you're all having a great weekend!

Yay for pampering and new clothes!! I'd totally be up for that self defense class...
