I’m trying not to feel guilty. I did pretty well last week. Messed up over the weekend. Sunday’s lunch was Fazoli’s where I got a tomato/cheese sub and had too many breadsticks. Sunday’s dinner was at BB King's where we had a few beers (Bud Light, though), some fried pickles (seriously, those are SO good – stop making that face and TRY THEM!), mashed potatoes and corn on the cob. Haven’t quite gotten back on track this week.
On Monday I didn’t work out because we stayed out late on Sunday night. I set my alarm for 4:45AM but when it went off, I just couldn’t get up. We hadn’t gone grocery shopping so Pat packed as much fruits and veggies as he could for my snacks, and I ate what the rep brought for lunch – potatoes and salad. They had meat dishes but as we all know, I don’t do meat. After work we went to Publix to grocery shop and we got subs for dinner. We went back two or three times to pick out chips to go with them, but we ended up not getting any at all. Yay! I wanted healthy ones, the multi-grain Tostitos or Sun Chips, but those are both so expensive so we just had our subs and left it at that. Woo-hoo!
On Tuesday morning, I did work out but I only did a 30-minute, 2 mile walk because I spent so much time getting caught up on my emails, Facebook and blog subscriptions that I only had half an hour to exercise. But I did it! Instead of skipping it altogether, I at least did some exercise! I ate the salad from the rep at lunch, plus my Soup At Hand, hummus and carrots. I had watermelon, pineapple and grapes for afternoon snacks. On the way home, Pat didn’t feel like cooking so we planned to order Pizza Hut’s whole grain crust pizza. It’s really yummy! Then as we got closer to the house we decided on Fazoli’s because it was right there, didn’t need to be delivered, and it was cheaper. I got a small spaghetti marinara (no fattening cheese ravioli or fettuccini alfredo). I had two breadsticks – and I’m trying not to feel guilty about that! At least we weren’t IN the restaurant with their unlimited breadsticks. That’s never good.
So here we are on Wednesday morning. I didn’t work out again. I did set my alarm for 4:45AM but when it went off, I woke up feeling like I was coming down with a cold. My throat is a little sore (that started yesterday afternoon) and I had that lump in my throat that you get when a cold is coming on. I figured another hour of sleep would be good for me, so I set my alarm ahead an hour and went back to sleep. Breakfast was a Fiber One toaster pastry (kinda like a Pop-Tart) and I have my string cheese and fruit for a snack. I have soup for lunch, but hopefully the rep will have salad there too.
And that’s my update. Reading back through it all, it doesn’t sound so awfully horrible. But I definitely don’t feel like I made the best choices. I suppose the scale will tell me the truth on “Fabulous Flab-u-less Friday”.
