Today is the weigh-in day! I was really kind of excited, because I busted my butt last week and although I didn't feel well this week and only worked out one day...and kind of messed up last weekend...I still did pretty "okay".
Or so I thought.
My weigh-in this morning was a loss of 0.4lbs again and a gain of 0.3% body fat.
So let's recap: over the past two weeks, I've lost not even a pound. Not even one pound. I've lost 1.6% body fat and then gained back 0.3%.
And seriously, even though I've made some slip ups, this whole "experiment" thing really kind of sucks is REALLY difficult. It's not easy to have Sonny's brought in to work and watch everyone else eat mac and cheese, corn bread, garlic bread, chocolate chip cookies and brownies and to just sit there eating my salad and carrots and grapes. But I did it! When they brought pizza in, I had just one slice (and then my salad and veggies) while everyone else had three or four slices - AND they had cookies but I did not.
And what do I have to show for it? Pretty much nothing. A gain in body fat.
Awesome.
I'm trying to stay un-stressed and just say that I did what I could and that how much I actually lost is beyond my control so I need to let it go.
That's about as easy as not having that one slice of pizza.
You have to put in the front of your mind that you've had two weeks worth of smart eating choices. After six weeks, you create a habit and there is going to be an eventual payoff. Thing long term. This is still in the short term phase.
ReplyDeleteIf you think about it, didn't your body fat percentage stay the same kind of? Since you lost weight wouldn't your percentage be higher if the amount stayed the same? So in essence you lost um something but just not fat? Eat more fiber Melissa and be cognisant of sodium too....I never seem to pay attention to it but apparently it's bloating me out the wazooo. Although carrots and whatnot really shouldn't be high in sodium....maybe weighing in so soon after the pizza? I've beeen there and am currently right there with you trying to lose. WE CAN DO THIS MELISSA!
ReplyDeleteDon't be so hard on yourself! You are still doing GREAT! At least you haven't gained weight. The secret truly is to burn more than you take in. So, if you want that something extra, don't deprive yourself and just work out a little extra that day. Stick with it-you can do it! ;)
ReplyDeleteCraziness....you're stressing again. I thought you gave that up a couple days ago? Just relax. You can do it! I agree with Pat...it's only been 2 weeks. Give it more time. And stop eating pasta on weekends :)...that was just me picking at you. xoxoxo I'll still cheer!
ReplyDeleteFor what it's worth, I agree - give it more time. Don't let a minor setback (which I wouldn't call this) derail you. Just hop back on the wagon, and like Pasquale said, know that you are creating a habit that will, in the long term, lengthen your life, and improve your health.
